When approaching from Harrogate along the A59

From Menwith Hill Crossroads
Follow the B6451 for about 3miles passing the Darley Mill centre. Ignore any signs for Thornthwaite village and keep on the main road up the hill into Dacre village. At the top end of the village immediately past public toilets and a red telephone box, turn left into Dacre Lane (signed Braithwaithe). There is also a small ‘Scout’ sign attached below the direction sign.
Follow Dacre Lane for nearly 1.5 miles and watch for a junction on the left signed Dacre Pasture lane. There is a fairly large sign for Thornthwaite Scout Activity Centre but it is partly obscured by footpath finger post signs. Turn left down Dacre Pasture lane after approx 1/2mile the entrance to the Campsite is on the left and there is a sign.
The track is quite rough so drive slowly, do not turn right down to the farm keep straight on across 2 fields and you come to the entrance to the campsite, turn right down the drive.
