This year, once again, Harrogate Scouts have been asked by the Round Table to be the sole providers of catering for the Stray Bonfire in November. As always, this is a massive honour, but we need your support to make it a success.
When: Saturday 8th November 2025
Where: Oatlands Drive, Harrogate
Time: 9.30am - 10pm (Split into sections)
How does it work?
The District have absorbed all of the risk, by hiring in the equipment and buying in the food, so there really is nothing for groups to lose. For each volunteer that attends, a proportion of the profits are allocated back to the group - the more that attend, the more profit for your group, it's as simple as that.
On Saturday 8th November, we have to restrict those who can volunteer to Scouts, Explorers and adult volunteers, on Sunday 9th we go back to The Stray to litter pick from 9.30am, and this is open to all sections and adult supporters. We have to split it this way to maintain the safety of all those supporting us. For any section sending young people on Sunday 9th, please ensure at least one responsible adult from your group is present.
What do I need to do now?
In order for us to get the volunteers we need, we rely on group leaders sharing the initial information and sign up link with their sections.
