Wildlife @ Thornthwaite

The Thornthwaite Scout Activity centre provides a fantastic location for camps and as well as a wide range of adventurous activities, but did you know it's also a rich haven for wildlife. A few years ago Ripon Scouts sponsored an owl box at Thornthwaite and last year saw a pair of Tawny owls successfully raise 3 owlets.

One of the District's Scout Active Support members, Bob Elliot maintains the box and has chronicled the progress of the owlets using trail cameras.
